Your first week with Goose
A day-by-day guide to setting up your brand, making your first ads and reading what worked.
This guide gets you from a new account to ads you can test, in about a week. Most steps take a few minutes.
Day 1: add your brand
- Sign in, give your name, then your brand's name and website, and choose Read my site. Goose reads it for free. See Getting started.
- Add Goose to your AI app. See Connect your AI app.
- If you run Meta ads, connect your ad account. Goose only reads your results. See Results and Meta.
Day 2: check your brand brain
Open Brand and go through the brand facts checklist. Then open Needs you, choose Brand updates, and approve or reject what Goose found. Your ads are only as good as your brand brain.
Open Taste and pick the look you like in a few pairs of ads, so Goose knows your style.
Choose OK to quote in ads on a few customer reviews. Goose keeps customer words out of ads until you do. See Get customer words you can quote.
Day 3: make your first image ads
Ask your AI app: "Make three ads for [your best seller]." Goose plans three ads that each try a different buyer, angle or format. Pick Draft or Good quality for a first test, so you learn what works before you spend more. See Plan a first set of three ads.
Look at each ad and Goose's check. Approve the ones you'd run and Reject the rest, with a reason.
Day 4: try a video
Ask your AI app: "Make a video ad for [your best seller]." Some video styles cost 0 credits, so this is a cheap way to see what Goose can do. See Make your first video with Goose Video.
Day 5: see what your competitors run
Open Research and choose Add a competitor, with their website. Then open it, choose Research now, pick Standard read, which is free, and choose Start research. When the report is ready, ask your AI app: "What are my competitors running?" Goose shows the ads they've kept running longest, and where there's room for you.
After a week of spend: read your results
Once your new ads have run in Meta for a few days, ask: "How are my ads doing?" See Read your results each week.
Then ask "What should I make next?" and repeat.
