Goose Growth

Getting started

Sign in, add your brand, connect your AI app, and find your way around the dashboard.

You need two things to use Goose: a Goose account with your brand in it, and Goose added to your AI app. The welcome page walks you through both, the first time you sign in.

Open the Goose dashboard and pick one of two ways in:

  • Continue with Google. Google asks which account to use.
  • Email me a sign-in link. Type your email and Goose sends you a link. Open it on the same device. The link works once, for 10 minutes.

There's no password to remember.

Your team

The first time you sign in, Goose makes a team for you and gives it 1,000 free credits. A team has its own brands, people and credits. If you signed up from an invite, you join that team instead.

You can make more teams later. Open your account menu, the picture at the top right, and choose New team under Teams. Each new team also starts with 1,000 free credits. See Team and settings.

The welcome steps

The welcome page shows one step at a time, as "Step 1 of 6". Goose skips the first two if it already knows the answers. On steps 3 to 5 you can choose Skip for now and come back later. Once a step is done, the button says Continue.

What's your name? Type Your name and choose Continue.

Add your brand. Fill in Brand name and Website, then choose Read my site. No website? Leave it empty and choose Add brand. Then tell Goose about your brand in your AI app, or choose Add to brand on the Brand page. See Your brand brain.

Connect your AI app. Pick Claude or ChatGPT and follow the steps, or open the part for coding apps or Hermes. The step shows Connected once your app signs in, or choose Check again. See Connect your AI app.

Show Goose your taste. Choose Pick ads to show Goose ads you like, and Check sources to see where Goose learns about your brand.

Connect Meta, if you run ads there. This one is optional. Connecting Meta lets Goose read how your ads do. See Results and Meta.

Make your first ad. Goose reads your website while you pick a first ad, like Ad for my best seller, or choose Something else. You see what Goose finds as it reads: your products, logo and colors, key pages, the ads you run and your social posts. It ends with "Your brand profile is ready". Or choose the Go to button with your brand's name to look around first.

Your first ask

In your AI app, ask for what you need in your own words. For example:

  • "Set up my brand from our website"
  • "Make three ads for our best seller"
  • "Make a video ad from this review"
  • "What should I make this week?"
  • "Plan our holiday campaign"
  • "Is this ad on brand?"
  • "What are my competitors running?"

Your AI app plans the work with Goose. Before anything that costs credits, you see the price and say yes.

You can also start in the dashboard: pick what to make on Make, or under What do you want to make? on Home.

Find your way around

The menu on the left has:

  • Make: pick what to make, the product and the look, and see the price before Goose starts.
  • Home: how this brand is doing, what needs you, and what Goose is working on and made.
  • Needs you: everything that waits on your decision.
  • History: every request you or your AI app sent to Goose, what came back and what it cost.
  • Library: your ads, videos, product photos, uploads and docs.
  • Campaigns: goals, with the ideas and ads made for them.
  • Results: how your ads do on Meta.
  • Under Brand: Brand, for your brand brain, and Research, for your competitors and saved posts.
  • Settings, at the bottom.

The bar at the top has the brand menu, Search…, your credits and your account menu. If your team has more than one brand, switch between them with the brand menu. Each brand has its own brain, ads and results. The credits button shows how many credits you have left, with Buy credits and Plan & credits. The account menu has your teams, Account, Docs, Send feedback and Sign out.

You can drop files anywhere in a brand to save them to its uploads.

Home

Home starts with a short line on what needs you and what Goose is making. Then it shows:

  • Get started: eight steps that tick themselves off, until you've done them all. They are Goose reads your website, Your products, Your logo and colors, Your taste, Your sources, Connect your AI app, Connect Meta and Make your first ad.
  • how your Meta ads did in the last 7 days, once Meta is connected
  • What do you want to make?: One video ad, Image ads, Many videos at once, Use my sheet and Expand an ad. Expand an ad tests new versions of one of your ads. See Expand an ad.
  • Activity: the newest requests for this brand
  • Needs you: the three newest items. Open one to decide it on the Needs you page.
  • Best and worst ads. On the best one, Make variations starts a test of new versions against it, when it's a video or an image ad Goose made. Otherwise it shows Make more like this.
  • Recent work: what Goose made

Make

Make walks you through a few steps. They depend on what you make:

  • Image ad: What, Product, Layout and Price
  • Video ad: What, Product, Style and Plan
  • Product photo: What, Product and Price
  • Campaign: What, Product and Set up

On the first step, pick one under What do you want to make?: One video ad, Image ads, Many videos at once, Use my sheet, Expand an ad, Product photo or Campaign. Expand an ad lists your ads that ran on Meta, so you can test new versions of one. See Expand an ad.

Or, under Start from an idea, choose one of your newest ad ideas. Goose fills in an image ad's brief, product and layout from it.

Needs you

Needs you lists everything for this brand that waits on you, newest first. Its count shows next to it in the menu. Filter by Questions, Spend credits, New ads, Brand updates or Meta changes, or open Done to see what your team already decided, and who.

What waitsWhat you do
Spend creditsCheck the price and choose Yes, spend the credits shown, or Yes, make it when it's free. If your balance is too low, choose Add credits. Or choose No thanks to turn it down, and nothing is spent.
A new adApprove or Reject it. When you reject, pick what's wrong. Ads from one run show together.
An ad ideaTick it or Drop it. Ticking spends nothing: Goose shows a price first.
A questionPick an answer, or write your own. You can also choose Dismiss the question.
A brand updateApprove or Reject it. You can Leave out single changes first.
A source to fixFix it in Sources.
A Meta sign-in to fixSign in to Meta again.
A Facebook Page to pickPick the page your ads run from and choose Save this page.

Changes to Meta are off for now, so Goose doesn't change anything in your Meta ad account.

Pick an item to decide it, then move to the next one, or choose Skip. After you decide an ad, Undo takes it back. A link to one item opens that item even if it isn't in the filter you're on. A campaign's Open button shows only what that campaign waits on; choose Show everything to see the rest.

History

History lists every request: what you asked, what came back and what it cost. It shows the brand you're in, or switch to All brands.

  • Needs you and Working come first. Earlier lists past requests.
  • Search requests, or filter by kind, by status, or by where they came from: Made here, Copied to your AI app or From your AI app.

Open a request to see what to do next, what you asked, what came back and each step it took. While it runs, Working now shows each job with Cancel, and canceling gives back its held credits. Finished pieces of a running batch show as soon as they're made. From the request's menu you can Rename, Archive or stop it. You can also copy it again, ask again, or change it and copy it.

Each request has a short code, like GR-AB12CD. Type it in Search to find the request.

Search and keyboard shortcuts

Choose Search… at the top, or press ⌘K on a Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows. Search finds ads, products, requests, facts, campaigns and competitors in this brand, and jumps to any page, like "Plan & credits" or "Connections".

These keys work on every page while you're not typing in a box:

KeyWhat it does
⌘K or Ctrl+KSearch
⌘B or Ctrl+BShow or hide the side menu
CMake something
ZUndo your newest change that offered Undo
?Show the keyboard shortcuts

Some pages add their own keys:

  • Needs you: J or ↓ for the next item, K or ↑ for the one before, S to skip, 1 to 5 to pick an answer, A to approve an ad or a brand update or tick an idea, X to reject or drop, and Z to undo your last ad choice. Press ? there to see them. Spending credits always needs a click, so nothing is spent by accident. Changes to Meta are off for now.
  • History: J and K move through requests, and / jumps to the search box.
  • Library: A picks every ad shown, Esc clears what you picked, and ← and → move between ads.
