Your brand brain
What Goose knows about your brand, where it learned it, and how you change it.
Your brand brain is everything Goose knows about your brand. Goose makes every ad from it, so the better it is, the better your ads are. You'll find it under Brand in the side menu.
What's in it
The Brand page has these tabs:
- Overview: a short summary of your brand and the line your ads end with, what needs a look, what Goose still needs to know, your goals and stage, and a search of every fact Goose knows.
- Products: each product with its price, photos, options and notes.
- Rules and claims: rules every ad must follow, What ads can say, and your offers.
- Look: your logos, colors, fonts, font files, photo style, photos, product photos and videos, and Find a moment.
- Taste: the looks you like, so Goose suggests templates and styles that suit you.
- Voice: how your brand sounds, how to say tricky words, and the angles your ads lead with.
- Sources: the places Goose reads to learn about your brand, and the ads and posts it found there.
- Past versions: every change to your brand brain, which you can undo.
At the top of every tab are your brand's name and website. Choose Edit name and website to change them. Ads use this name.
On the Overview, What needs a look lists what's missing, like no summary, no colors, no logo, no products or no offers, each with a button to add it. Goose still needs to know lists the questions Goose will ask you instead of guessing. At the bottom, Brand guide opens the pages your AI app reads when it works for you.
New things Goose learned wait in Needs you, under Brand updates. The Overview shows how many are waiting.
How Goose learns your brand
When you add a brand, Goose reads your website. It's free. It reads:
- your home page and a few key pages, such as about, pricing, deals, FAQ, shipping, returns and reviews
- your store's product list, if your shop runs on Shopify or WooCommerce (up to 250 products when it reads your website, and up to 1,000 when it reads your store again on its own)
- your logo, colors and fonts
- up to 10 ads your brand runs, from the Meta Ad Library
- up to 10 of your Instagram or TikTok posts, found from links on your home page
It skips cart, checkout and login pages, and it follows your site's rules for robots.
New plain facts go into your brand brain at once on the first read. Offers, claims and customer quotes wait as a brand update for you to check first.
Goose reads your sources again on its own: your website every 30 days, your reviews, posts and Reddit searches every 7 days, and your blog feed, store and ads every day. Later reads take up to 500 of your ads and 24 posts. Your logo, colors and fonts are read again only when you ask. See Sources.
Your store's product list updates on its own. New products and changes to products come in straight away, without a draft, and products that left your store are archived. Anything you changed on a product yourself stays as you set it. Anything else new from a later read waits as a brand update for your yes.
To read your website again yourself, choose Read again on the Brand Overview, or Refresh on the source. After it reads, the Overview says what's new, changed or gone, waiting for your yes.
Add more to learn from
You can give Goose more to learn from at any time. Ask in your AI app, or choose Add to brand at the top of any Brand tab. It's free. Pick a tab:
- Link: paste the Page address and choose Learn from this page. Goose reads the page and finds facts, each with the words it found them in.
- Text: give it a Title, paste notes, reviews or anything else under Text, and choose Learn from this text.
- Document: pick a PDF, TXT, Markdown or CSV file, up to 50 MB, and choose Learn from this file. Goose learns from the first 100,000 characters.
- File: pick what it is under What is it?: a logo or brand photo (PNG, JPEG or WebP, up to 25 MB; a logo can also be an SVG), a font file (TTF, OTF or WOFF2, up to 10 MB), a video (MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 1 GB), audio (MP3, WAV or M4A, up to 200 MB) or a document (up to 50 MB). Then choose Save file. Goose keeps these as they are and doesn't learn from them.
What Goose learns from a link, text or document lands in Needs you, under Brand updates, for your yes.
Goose can't read Word or Excel files yet. Save them as a PDF or CSV, or paste their text. A scanned PDF needs its text added first.
Sources
Sources lists the places Goose reads to learn about your brand, under Where Goose reads. Each one shows its kind, like Website, Instagram or Store reviews, whether Goose read it fine, when it last read it, and when it reads it next. If Goose couldn't read a source, it says why and what to do, and it shows in Needs you as a source to fix.
For each source you can:
- Refresh to read it now
- see its History of reads
- Pause it, then Resume it
- Remove it. Goose stops reading it, and what it already learned stays.
Choose Add a source to add a website, a blog feed, a reviews page, a Trustpilot page, an Instagram or TikTok account, or a Reddit search. Under Suggested by Goose, Add the places your site links to that Goose should read, and Dismiss the rest. Look for more asks Goose to find more.
An account can be one of your own sources or one you watch for ideas in Research, but not both. Goose tells you if you try to add it twice.
Found on your site and socials shows the ads and posts Goose found in your sources. Choose Keep as template on one to make your own ads in its layout.
Reading sources is free.
Brand updates
When Goose learns something new, or your AI app suggests a change, it becomes a brand update. That part of your brand brain doesn't change until someone on your team approves it.
Open Needs you and choose Brand updates to see what waits. In each update, every change is marked New, Changed or Remove. Choose Leave out on a change you don't want, and Put back to change your mind. Then approve the update, or choose Reject.
If something an update changes was changed again after it was made, the update shows Out of date. Choose Redo on the latest version to bring it up to date, or reject it.
When you change something yourself on a Brand tab, it saves at once. If someone changed the same thing first, your change waits in Needs you instead.
Fix a fact yourself
Each part of a Brand tab has its own button, like Edit summary, Edit colors, Edit fonts, Edit voice, Edit rules, Edit claims or Edit offers. When a part is empty, its button says what to add, like Write a summary, Add colors or Add an offer.
Under Goose still needs to know on the Overview, write Your answer to a question and choose Save answer. Goose uses it from then on.
To find any fact, type in Search facts on the Overview. Each result links to the tab where you can change it. Or pick a topic like Offers, Claims or Customers, with no search words, to see each fact with where it came from, and whether you confirmed it, Goose researched it, or it's Goose's guess.
On a fact in a topic, open its … menu and choose Correct to change it, or Remove to take it out. These save at once, without a brand update, and you can undo them in Past versions.
Claims, proof and customer quotes
Every claim on Rules and claims has one of three states:
- Ads can say it: ads can use it.
- Needs proof first: ads can't use it until there's proof.
- Never say it: ads must never say it.
A claim's proof shows with the fact on the Overview: pick the topic Claims to see each claim with its proof and where it came from.
Words from your customers, like reviews, posts and comments, start as Not asked to quote yet. Goose keeps them out of your ads until someone on your team chooses OK to quote in ads. You can also choose Don't quote, or Take back the OK later. Find them on the Overview: pick the topic Customers.
Voice and taste
Voice is how your brand sounds when Goose writes for you. Choose Edit voice to change it. To help voiceovers say tricky names right, choose Edit voice, then Add how to say a word. They show under How to say words. Under Angles, the ideas your ads lead with, choose Edit angles to change them, or Make with this angle to start an ad from one.
Taste is the look you like. Under Pick a look, Goose shows you pairs of ads. Pick the one that feels more like your brand in each pair. After 8 picks, Goose knows your taste, and it leans on it when it suggests templates and video styles. You lean towards and You steer away from show what it learned. Choose More pairs to keep going, or Clear taste to start again. Taste also has the Community gallery switch from the Overview. See Brand settings.
Products
Goose finds your products when it reads your website. You can also add one: choose Add a product, paste its page link and choose Read the page, or add it by hand. Check what Goose found, pick up to 8 photos from the page, and choose Add product. It's free.
On a product's page you can:
- Edit its name, price, currency, offer, type, page link, description, notes for Goose and tags. Goose keeps your changes when your store's list updates.
- add Creative notes: what anyone making ads with this product should know
- pick its main photo, add product photos and size photos from a file or a link, move a photo between the two, or remove one
- say whether it's OK for ads or should be left out of ads
- see its Options and Subscriptions from your store, and the ads Made with it
- Make something with it, Archive it, or Delete product. You can only delete a product that no ads were made with. Archive the others.
Goose leaves gift cards and free items out of ads by itself. It marks sold-out products, and products it can't place in your store, as Check before ads.
On the Products tab you can search, filter by tag, sort, switch between List and Grid, and see Archived products, with Restore to bring one back. Pick up to 100 products at once to Tag them, mark them OK for ads or Leave out of ads, or Archive them. Right after you archive or mark them, you can choose Undo. To Make something from picked products, pick no more than the kind of work takes: 1 for an image ad or a product photo, up to 3 for a campaign, or up to 12 for a video.
Write an offer only when it's real. Goose never makes one up.
Find a photo or a moment
On Brand, then Look, go to Find a moment. Type what you're looking for in your own words, like "chai being poured", and choose Find. Goose looks through your brand and product photos by what they show, using their names, captions, notes and any words on them. It also finds moments in your videos whose scenes Goose has found. Matches that show what you asked for are marked Shows it, and matches on the same words are marked Same words. Choose Show more matches for more. It's free, and your AI app can search the same way.
A new or renamed photo can take about a minute before Goose finds it by meaning. To find moments in a video, go to Videos on the Look tab, choose Scenes next to the video, then Find the scenes. It's free.
Notes, briefs and reports
Open Library, then Docs, to find the notes, briefs and reports you or your AI app wrote for this brand. Choose New document to write one. To change one, open it and choose Edit, then Save a new version. Every save keeps the version before it, under Versions.
If a save fails, Goose tells you and keeps your words in the editor, so you can save again. Saving again never makes a second copy. If someone else saved a newer version while you were editing, your edit isn't saved and the page shows the newest version. Choose Copy my edit to copy your words, then paste them into the newest version.
Past versions
Past versions shows every change to your brand brain: who made it, when, and what it was before and after. Choose Undo on a change to take it back. If something newer changed the same thing, undo the newer change first.
Ask what Goose knows
In your AI app, ask "What do you know about us?" for a short summary. Or ask a specific question, like "What's our return policy?" Goose answers from your brand brain and says where it found the answer.
If something is wrong, tell your AI app. It suggests the fix as a brand update for you to approve in Needs you. Or fix it yourself on the Brand page.
