Goose Growth

Campaigns

Keep a goal, a brief and the ideas Goose makes ads from in one place.

A campaign keeps one goal, its products, a brief and a set of ideas together, so the ads Goose makes all fit. These are Goose campaigns for planning. They aren't campaigns in your Meta ad account, and Goose sends nothing from a campaign to Meta.

Your AI app writes the brief and the ideas. You approve the ideas worth making. Goose makes ads only from approved ideas, and you see the price before anything is made.

Start a campaign

In your AI app: ask, for example, "Plan our holiday campaign." Your AI app asks for the goal and the products if you didn't say, then sets up the campaign and gives you its link.

In the dashboard: open Campaigns and choose Start a campaign in Make, or open Make and pick Campaign. Pick up to 3 products, or choose Go on without a product. You can add more products later, up to 10. Then give it:

  • a Name your team will know it by, like "Holiday gift sets"
  • a Goal: Sell more, Launch something new, Get sign-ups, or Keep ads fresh
  • What it makes: image ads, videos, or both
  • What do you want? (optional): an offer, a moment or who it's for. Goose saves it as the brief. Leave it blank and your AI app writes the brief.
  • how many Ideas to start with, from 1 to 5, and Ads per idea, from 1 to 4
  • for each idea, Your note (optional) and up to 3 references it Starts from. Leave the note blank and your AI app comes up with the idea.

Then choose Set up the campaign, or Copy for your AI app and paste it into your AI app. Both open the campaign's Plan tab. Your AI app writes the brief if you left it blank, then writes each idea from your note and references.

Below the setup, Or add to a campaign you have lists your open campaigns.

The brief

The brief says who the campaign is for, what to say, what to show and what to stay away from, in a few short lines. Goose follows it for every idea and ad in the campaign.

It's at the top of the campaign's Plan tab. Your AI app can write it, or you can choose Write the brief or Edit the brief and write it yourself. Each save makes a new version. Choose Earlier versions to see the older ones, and Restore to use one again.

Under References, choose Add a reference to add ads Goose made, a competitor's ad, your own ads and posts, product photos and brand files, and any link. Your AI app looks at them for the feel, the layout and what worked when it writes ideas. It takes only the look and feel from a competitor's ad, never their words. A campaign can hold up to 12 references.

Ideas

Each idea is one person, one moment and one message, with proof from your brand brain behind it. Your AI app suggests up to six at a time, and a campaign can hold up to 24 open ideas. It says so when an idea is a first guess with nothing behind it yet.

The Plan tab groups them under Ideas:

  • Waiting to be written: ideas you set up. Choose Copy for your AI app, and it writes each one from your note and starting references.
  • To decide: ideas your AI app wrote. Choose Approve on the ones worth making and Drop on the rest.
  • Approved: ready for Make ads. Undo approval moves one back.
  • Dropped: Bring it back returns one.

Choose Add an idea to write one of your own. If you give it a name, it goes straight to Approved. Leave its name blank, and your AI app writes it from your note. You can also tell your AI app which ideas you like.

Notes and starting references

Choose Edit on an idea to change its words, its product and how many ads it makes in each size, from 1 to 8. Your note is anything whoever makes these ads should know, like a look to copy or a word to avoid.

Under Starts from, choose Add to give an idea up to 3 ads, files or links for its ads to start from.

Your AI app follows each idea's note and starting references when it makes the ads. Make ads in the dashboard follows each idea's note, but not its starting references.

Make the ads

Once you've approved a few ideas:

  • In the dashboard: choose Make ads at the top of the campaign. Pick the Ideas to make, the Sizes (Square, Feed, Story or Wide) and the Quality: Good, Better or Best. Each idea makes the number of ads set in its Ads in each size. Then choose See the price and say yes. Or choose Copy for your AI app to hand the work over instead.
  • In your AI app: ask it to make the ads for the campaign. It plans each idea's ads, follows your notes and references, and shows you the price.

You can also start an image ad from one idea in Make: under Start from an idea, choose the idea.

Campaign ads cost the same as any image ad. See Static ads. For videos, your AI app follows the video steps for each approved idea. See Videos.

The Ads tab

A campaign has three tabs: Ads, Plan and Results. The Ads tab has:

  • Waiting, when something waits: the decisions this campaign needs from you, with Open to see them in Needs you, and work you copied for your AI app that it hasn't picked up yet. Choose History on one to copy it again.
  • every ad the campaign made
  • Ad batches: each time you asked Goose to make ads for this campaign, with the ideas, the credits held or spent, and up to 8 of the ads it made. A batch shows Waiting for your yes, Price ran out, Making, Made, Didn't work or Stopped.

Dates and budget

Choose Dates and budget in the campaign's menu to note when it Starts and Ends, and a daily budget. This is for planning only. Nothing here goes to Meta.

See how it's doing

The campaign's Results tab shows how its ads do in Meta, once they've run. It opens on Last 30 days. Pick Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 days or All time. It shows your spend and your main results, and the campaign's ads that spent most. You need Meta connected. See Results and Meta.

Rename, archive and delete

The campaign's … menu has Rename, Goal and products, Dates and budget, Mark done, Duplicate, Archive and Delete. A duplicate starts as a draft.

The Campaigns page shows Active, Done or Archived campaigns. Archived campaigns keep their brief, ideas and ads. Choose Archived, then Restore to bring one back.
